Rosette-level cooking at a destination farm-resort restaurant
A high-profile granary-style restaurant set within a much-loved farm and leisure resort is looking for a talented Senior Chef de Partie to join its kitchen brigade. This is a destination venue where fresh, seasonal, produce-led food is at the heart of everything, and where the daytime dining offer draws a steady stream of visitors throughout the year.
Location: Rural resort setting, easily commutable
Salary: £35,000, plus up to £5,000 tronc bonus
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Live-In: Available on site at approximately £100 per week
Overview
This is a rare opportunity for a chef who values quality of life as much as quality of food. With predominantly straight shifts and finishing up to 9pm, it offers a better balance than most kitchens, without compromising on ambition or standards.
The Role
As Senior Chef de Partie you will take ownership of your section and play a senior role within the brigade, working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to drive consistency and standards through a busy service. You will contribute to menu development, make the most of fresh and locally available produce, and help maintain the Rosette-level reputation that makes this such a sought-after place to eat.
Key Responsibilities
- Running and managing your own section to a consistently high, Rosette-level standard during service.
- Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menus, specials and seasonal changes.
- Deputising for the Sous Chef and helping to lead the kitchen when required.
- Preparing and presenting fresh, produce-led dishes to an exceptional standard.
- Maintaining rigorous food safety, hygiene and health-and-safety standards across the kitchen.
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and minimising waste on your section.
- Supporting the training and development of junior chefs and kitchen staff.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Chef de Partie, or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- Experience at 1 AA Rosette level (or equivalent) is ideally required.
- A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal, produce-led cooking.
- Confident running your own section and supporting a busy service from the pass.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance.
- Calm, organised and reliable under pressure, with strong attention to detail.
- A team player who can support and inspire those around them.
This role will suit an ambitious chef who wants to do brilliant food while enjoying a better working pattern than most kitchens offer, with predominantly straight shifts.
What’s On Offer
- Salary of £35,000, plus up to £5,000 in tronc bonus.
- Predominantly straight shifts, finishing up to 9pm.
- On-site living accommodation available at approximately £100 per week.
- A senior section role within a respected, high-footfall Rosette-level venue.
- Scope for menu input and genuine career progression.
- A supportive team and a working environment that values balance.
