Overview
We are working with an established renewable energy installer that is looking to add a qualified electrician to its team. This is a field-based role covering domestic and small commercial Solar PV and heat pump installations, working predominantly across East Anglia with occasional visits to the Head Office in Haverhill.
Most work is pre-planned and there is a steady pipeline of projects, so this is a stable, well-organised operation rather than a reactive one. It would suit a qualified electrician who either already works in renewables or wants to move into a growing sector with long-term prospects.
The Role
You will carry out electrical installations and connections across Solar PV and heat pump systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly and to a consistently high standard. Travel between sites is a core part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Wiring and connecting Solar PV systems
- Carrying out electrical works on heat pump systems
- Installing and commissioning inverters and battery storage systems
- Installing AC/DC isolators and carrying out fault finding
- Completing testing and certification in line with regulations
- Supporting general electrical work related to solar installations
- Working safely across multiple sites, including at height and in loft spaces
Key Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Qualified Electrician
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- AM2 certification
- Strong understanding of electrical systems within domestic or small commercial environments
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working at height (roofs) and within loft spaces
This role would suit a qualified electrician who takes pride in compliant, well-finished work and is comfortable working independently across a variety of sites. Existing Solar PV experience is welcome but not essential for the right candidate.
