Overview
An established hotel in the historic town of Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, is looking for a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef to join its kitchen team. The hotel has a strong reputation for quality food and consistent standards, serving guests across its restaurant, bar and events spaces, and the kitchen team takes real pride in its food and service.
This is a great opportunity for a confident Junior Sous Chef ready to step up, or an experienced Sous Chef looking for their next move, in a well-regarded hotel kitchen.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will help lead a busy section, support the smooth running of service, and play a key part in maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation. This role suits either a confident Junior Sous Chef ready for more responsibility, or a Sous Chef looking for their next challenge.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Leading a section during service, ensuring consistent quality and presentation
Assisting with the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff
Assisting with menu development and seasonal dishes
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock rotation
Deputising for the Sous Chef in their absence
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and food safety standards at all times
Key Requirements
Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef, or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
Experience within hotel or high-volume hospitality environments is preferred
Good leadership and organisational skills
Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure during service
A good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
A flexible approach to working hours
