Overview
Our client is a historic coaching inn in Lavenham, one of the best preserved medieval villages in England. It has bedrooms, a restaurant and a bar all under one roof.
They need a Food and Beverage Supervisor to lead the floor. You will keep service sharp, guide a friendly team and make sure every guest feels looked after from first drink to last course.
The Role
You will run the food and beverage service day to day. You will work a 45 hour week across breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar service, including weekends. You will report to the management team and set the standard for the front of house team. Live-in accommodation is available if you want to move to the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the restaurant and bar teams during all service periods.
- Brief the team before each shift and keep standards high throughout.
- Greet guests, take care of their needs and deal with any issues on the spot.
- Train new starters and coach the existing team.
- Write and manage the rota to match business levels.
- Control stock, take deliveries and help with ordering.
- Cash up and handle tills accurately at the end of each shift.
- Work closely with the kitchen, reception and housekeeping.
- Follow all food safety, licensing, allergen and health and safety rules.
- Support events and busy periods.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Supervisor in an establishment that holds at least one AA Rosette.
- Strong people skills and the ability to lead a team from the front.
- Good knowledge of food, wine, beer and spirits.
- Experience with stock control, rotas and cashing up.
- A calm, organised approach when service gets busy.
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Personal licence is a plus.
