Overview
A well-established seafront hotel in the popular Devon coastal town of Sidmouth is looking to welcome a Commis Chef or Demi Chef de Partie to its kitchen brigade. The hotel has a strong reputation for quality, freshly prepared food served across its restaurant, bar and event spaces, and the kitchen team takes real pride in consistent standards and fresh, seasonal ingredients.

The Role
Working alongside an experienced brigade, you will support the smooth running of a busy section, gaining hands-on experience across starters, mains and desserts while developing your skills under the guidance of senior chefs. The role suits either a confident Commis Chef ready to step up, or a Demi Chef de Partie looking for their next move.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
Supporting your section chef with mise en place and service
Following recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness at all times
Correctly storing, labelling and rotating stock
Working efficiently as part of a close-knit kitchen team, including during busy service periods
Assisting with deliveries and stock checks as required
Key Requirements
Previous experience working in a professional kitchen
A genuine passion for food and a willingness to learn
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
Ability to work well under pressure during busy service
A positive, team-focused attitude
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings
