Workplace description : Overlooking a small market town in Shropshire this picturesque hotel is nestled in woodland with breathtaking views. With 50 rooms for guests the hotel is run on the basis of a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Offering good food and a stunning location it is the perfect venue for any guest with committed and friendly staff there to meet every need
Main duties and responsibilities : Ensure working area is clean and tidy at all times.
Personal hygiene is always maintained.
Always observe Health & Safety Regulations.
Working to Standards in the Food Safety Manual
Ensure that over or under preparation of production of food is kept to a minimum.
To be aware of the Hotel fire plan & to be able to communicate this information to guests
To be aware of the Hotel Health & Safety Policy
To attend Company and Departmental Training Sessions as and when required
To attend monthly Departmental meetings
To ensure that all lost property is handed to Housekeeping or Reception and to record in the lost property book
Specific Duties

To assist Chef de Parties & Demi Chef de Parties as required in various sections of the kitchen.
To undergo training schedules as designated by senior members of staff.
To eventually be able to deputise for the Demi Chef de Partie & Chef de Partie in their absence.
Essential criteria : Commitment to Service Excellence, Teamwork, Communication, Motivation, Contribution and Adaptability
Desirable criteria : NVQs or equivalent would be advantageous and to have worked to Rosette standards
Responsible to : Head Chef, Sous Chef and Chef de Partie
Responsible for : Your station
Accommodation provided : Yes
Charge for accommodation : 45.00 GBP per week
Meals provided : Yes, on an all inclusive basis
Benefits and how are they paid : Share of tips on a monthly basis
Pension : Optional Stakeholder pension available
Uniform : Subsidised uniform if required
Next pay review on what basis : Performance related annual pay review
Prospects for promotion : Good
Number of days per week : 5 out of 7
Average hours per week : 45
Overtime/time off in lieu : Time off in lieu for additional days worked
Shift pattern/start and finish times : Mixture of straights and splits. Straights: (07.00 to 15.00) or (12.00 to 22.00) Splits: (09.30 to 14.00 then 18.00 to 22.00)
